Nothing is sold or shipped online
Phalcon Bikes is a workshop and e-bike rental shop in Chippendale. Nothing on this site is charged to you online and nothing gets posted to you, so there is no parcel to send back and no shipping return to arrange. What you can do online is book a bike service or reserve an e-bike rental. Accessories are bought over the counter and taken away with you, and if one needs to come back, it comes back to the shop.
Returning an accessory you bought in store
Bring it back to the counter at Shop 1, 146 Cleveland Street with your receipt. If an item is faulty, not fit for the purpose we sold it for, or does not match what we described, you get a repair, a replacement or a refund under the Australian Consumer Law, and for a major failure the choice is yours. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, so please ask us anything you are unsure about before you buy. We would rather spend five minutes fitting the right thing to your bike than have you take home the wrong one.
Cancelling a reservation costs you nothing
We do not take payment when you reserve online. You choose your bike and dates, we hold it, and you pay in the shop when you collect. Because no money changes hands at the reservation step, cancelling before you collect costs you nothing and there is nothing for us to refund. Just tell us as early as you can so the bike can go to the next rider, by calling 0410 937 681 or emailing info@phalconbikes.com.au.
Changing or cancelling a service booking
You can move or cancel a service booking at no cost by letting us know before your appointment. We always quote you before any work starts, and you approve the quote before we touch the bike. If we find something extra once the bike is open, we stop and call you rather than adding it to the bill.
Rentals run on a minimum term
Our rental pricing is weekly and each price depends on a minimum number of weeks, which is shown on the bike before you reserve and again on the reservation page. The term, the price and the condition of the bike are set out in the rental agreement you sign when you collect, so you know exactly what you have agreed to before the bike leaves the shop. Ask us anything you are unsure about at that point, not after.
The rental bond is refundable
Rentals take a refundable bond at pickup, paid in store: $150, or $200 on 20-week plans, plus $100 if you add the extra battery. It is returned in full when you bring the bike back in normal condition. Anything beyond that is handled under the rental agreement you sign at pickup, which sets out the condition the bike needs to come back in.
If something is not right
If a service we carried out did not fix the problem, bring the bike back and we will look at it again. If a rental bike develops a fault while you have it, call us and we will repair it or swap it out. We would rather hear about it while we can still do something about it.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Our services and the goods we sell both come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Services must be provided with due care and skill and be fit for the purpose agreed. Goods must be of acceptable quality, match their description, and be fit for the purpose we sold them for. If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee you are entitled to a remedy, and for a major failure you can choose a refund, a replacement, or compensation for the drop in value. Nothing on this page limits those rights.
