Frequently asked questions.
Everything about bike servicing, e-bike repair, and e-bike rental at our Chippendale workshop.
Good questions.
How much does a bike service cost?
A General Check (brakes, gears, safety check, full clean) is $174.90. An Electric Check Up for e-bikes is $60.50. Individual repairs start from $16.50 for a brake adjustment. All prices include labour, parts are quoted separately before we start.
How long does a bike service take?
A General Check takes approximately 1 hour. An Electric Check Up takes 30 minutes. Flat tyres and minor repairs take 30-60 minutes. We can often do same-day work, call ahead to confirm availability.
What is included in a General Check?
Brakes adjustment, gears adjustment and indexing, safety inspection, full cleaning and lubrication, tyre pressure check, and an e-bike system check if applicable. Parts replaced separately and always quoted upfront.
What is an Electric Check Up?
It's a 30-minute e-bike-only diagnostic: $60.50 labour. We read error codes off the display, inspect the motor, controller and wiring, and give you a written report with recommendations. It's the right first step for any e-bike issue.
My e-bike shows an error code. What does that mean?
Error codes vary by system but usually indicate a motor, sensor, or communication fault. The Electric Check Up ($60.50) reads the code and identifies the cause, then we quote any repair before we start.
Do I need to book or can I walk in?
Both work. We recommend booking online to lock in your preferred time. Walk-ins are always welcome. Open 7 days, 10am-6pm.
What e-bike systems do you service?
We service electric bikes generally. We diagnose and repair the motor, controller, display and wiring, and handle the usual brakes, gears, tyres and wheels. Bring it in for an Electric Check Up and we'll find the fault and quote any work before we start.
My e-bike shows an error or won't turn on, can you help?
Yes. Start with the Electric Check Up ($60.50): we check the motor, controller, display and wiring to find the cause, then quote any repair before we begin.
Can you fix a broken e-bike motor?
In many cases yes. We start with the Electric Check Up ($60.50) to diagnose the fault. Physical motor damage may need a unit replacement, labour is $165.00, parts quoted separately upfront.
What rental plans are available?
All plans are weekly. You can choose 2, 4, 8, 10, 12, or 20-week plans. Longer commitments give a lower weekly rate: 6h battery bikes run from $75/wk (2 weeks) down to $39/wk (20 weeks); 8h battery bikes from $85/wk (2 weeks) down to $49/wk (20 weeks).
Is there a daily rental option?
No. All our plans are weekly with a minimum 2-week commitment. This lets us include proper maintenance support, which short-term daily rentals don't allow for.
What's included in the rental?
Every rental includes: fully charged e-bike, helmet (on request), bike lock, phone holder, and lights. Free general maintenance is included on all plans. 4-week and longer plans also include an Uber delivery bag.
Can I rent an e-bike for delivery work?
Yes, our packages are designed specifically for DoorDash, Uber Eats, Menulog, and Deliveroo riders. Maintenance is included so you never face unexpected repair costs. The 20-week plan has the best weekly rate.
What happens if the bike breaks down?
Come to the workshop (7 days, 10am-6pm). On longer plans you get priority service, we fix it while you wait or offer a replacement bike where available.
What ID and bond do I need to rent?
A valid government photo ID (driver's licence or passport) and a refundable bond: $150, or $200 on the 20-week plan. The bond is returned in full when you bring the bike back in normal condition.
