What you are buying

Built for hard work.

A folding lock is the honest middle ground between a cable you can cut with hand tools and a D-lock you stop carrying because it does not fit anywhere. This one is built from 5mm heat treated steel bars linked by hardened rivets, plastic coated so it rides against your frame without chewing the paint.

The bars are rated to hold up against a 12T hydraulic cutter, hammering, sawing and drilling, and the rivets are tested to 1.5 tonnes of pull. The cylinder takes a thin flat key that defeats picking, and the keyhole sits behind an anti-drill cap with a sliding cover so grit never gets in.

It folds flat into a bracket that bolts to the frame, and it unfolds forwards, which is the part that matters on a small frame or a step through where a rear mounted lock has nowhere to go. Riders leaving a bike outside a restaurant for six minutes at a time need something that comes off fast and goes back on faster.

FAQ

Lock questions.

How much is the folding bike lock?

$99 including GST, bought at the counter at Shop 1, 146 Cleveland Street, Chippendale. That is the price on the shelf, there is no online surcharge and no delivery fee, because we do not post it.

Can I buy it online?

No. We are a workshop, not an online shop, so there is no cart and no checkout on this site. You pay in store when you pick it up. Call 0410 937 681 first if you want us to hold one behind the counter.

Is it in stock right now?

Yes, it is counter stock at Chippendale. Stock moves, so if you are travelling across town give us a call on 0410 937 681 and we will put one aside for you.

Will it fit on my bike?

It folds into a bracket that bolts onto the frame, and it unfolds forwards rather than back, so it works on small frames and step throughs where a rear mounted lock has nowhere to sit. Bring the bike in and we will fit the bracket while you wait.

What if it is faulty?

Bring it back with your receipt. Goods sold in store come with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, and a faulty lock is a repair, replacement or refund depending on how serious the fault is. Our returns page sets it out in full.
